Nvidia & Microsoft Executives Advocate Rethinking Human-AI Workflows for Future Business Success at Global Biz Forum

Nvidia and Microsoft executives recently highlighted that while artificial intelligence (AI) is still in its nascent phase, businesses proactively redesigning human-AI collaboration are strategically poised to unlock significant business value.

During their presentations at the prestigious 2026 Global Biz Forum, co-hosted by The Korea Herald and Herald Business in Seoul, both tech giants emphasized that AI should be viewed as a complex, layered industrial system, not merely an isolated technological tool.

Jeong So-young, Datacenter and Enterprise Business Lead at Nvidia Korea, meticulously detailed the five foundational layers driving the modern AI economy: energy, crucial semiconductors like GPUs and memory, robust infrastructure including advanced data centers and cloud platforms, sophisticated AI models, and diverse AI services. He underscored the critical need for “balanced growth across all these interconnected tiers” to sustain AI advancement.

Jeong further spotlighted GPU-based parallel computing as the indispensable engine fueling recent groundbreaking AI advancements. He explicitly stated that “the immense scale of contemporary data and complex AI models has already surpassed the efficient processing capabilities of traditional CPU-based systems.”

Drawing a powerful analogy, Jeong likened the current evolutionary stage of AI to the nascent era of electricity, describing it as “still in its infancy, yet possessing the transformative power to ignite widespread industrial change across sectors.”

He also observed that the declining costs associated with AI token generation are paving the way for expansive AI inference capabilities and a wider array of AI service offerings. Furthermore, he articulated that data centers are rapidly transitioning into sophisticated “AI factories, generating substantial value rather than merely operating as cost centers.”

Shifting the perspective, Kim Sung-mi, Azure Success Manager at Microsoft Korea, presented a more measured outlook. She highlighted a concerning trend: the increasing disparity between substantial AI investments and tangible business outcomes.

Kim revealed a startling statistic, stating, “Only approximately 5 percent of enterprises are currently realizing significant returns from their AI investments.” She attributed this critical shortfall to prevalent gaps in foundational data readiness, optimized workflow design, and adaptable organizational structures.

She further elaborated that a substantial portion of AI implementation efforts is dedicated to preparatory groundwork. “A staggering 50 to 70 percent of AI project resources are typically allocated to comprehensive data preparation and strategic process redesign, rather than solely to model development,” Kim explained.

Additionally, employee sentiment regarding AI integration remains multifaceted. While the workforce generally embraces AI for automating repetitive tasks, a considerable reluctance persists concerning entrusting complex decision-making processes entirely to AI systems.

Despite their varying perspectives, both Nvidia and Microsoft converged on a pivotal consensus: the forthcoming evolutionary stage of artificial intelligence will be fundamentally defined by the emergence and widespread adoption of autonomous AI agents.

Nvidia’s representative articulated that AI is rapidly advancing beyond simple prompt-based interactions, evolving towards sophisticated software agents capable of independent task planning and execution. This includes diverse applications ranging from automated file editing and comprehensive web browsing to advanced code refinement.

Microsoft unequivocally supported this vision, with Kim emphasizing that “a synergistic hybrid model, wherein AI efficiently manages routine operational tasks while humans concentrate on high-value creative and strategic decision-making, represents the most effective and productive path forward.”

This transformative shift, Kim stressed, necessitates profound organizational and structural changes. She advised that “organizations must transition from traditional, rigid departmental structures towards more agile, project-based teams, fostering seamless collaboration between human talent and AI agents.”

Given the unprecedented acceleration in technological evolution, Nvidia strongly advised companies to prioritize nimble execution and adaptability over rigid, long-term strategic planning.

Jeong highlighted the astonishing pace of innovation, observing that in merely three years since the launch of ChatGPT, AI model scale and processing capabilities have surged by over 100-fold. He concluded that “traditional three-to-five-year roadmaps have significantly diminished in relevance within this dynamically evolving environment.”

Microsoft, contributing its insights, underscored three critical priorities for successful and effective AI adoption: meticulously analyzing tasks at a granular job-level, ensuring AI deployment is strictly guided by clear returns on investment (ROI), and establishing robust, dedicated AI governance structures, including specialized Centers of Excellence.

The collective message from both industry leaders was unequivocally clear.

Artificial intelligence technology itself is no longer the primary impediment to progress. The key differentiator separating market leaders from those who lag behind will be a company’s prowess in effectively integrating AI into core operations – fundamentally reshaping existing workflows, optimizing critical decision-making processes, and innovating organizational design.

AI is rapidly establishing itself as a foundational general-purpose technology, akin to the transformative impact of electricity. For businesses today, the ultimate challenge and true measure of success lies squarely in decisive execution.
