Pulmuone proudly announced its highest-ever achievement, securing the third position among global food companies in the prestigious 2025 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) by S&P Global.
This remarkable result extends Pulmuone’s consistent presence within the global top five for three consecutive years, demonstrating significant progress from its fourth-place ranking last year.
Recognized as a leading global benchmark for corporate sustainability, the S&P Global CSA rigorously evaluated approximately 9,200 companies across 59 diverse industries this year. Only the top 9 percent of these companies earned inclusion in The Sustainability Yearbook, underscoring the assessment’s exclusivity.
Within the crucial Food Products category, Pulmuone distinguished itself by ranking first among its Korean counterparts, a testament to its exceptional competitiveness across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.
Pulmuone’s comprehensive sustainability efforts span all ESG pillars. Environmentally, the company significantly advanced its ‘Eco-Caring’ strategy through strengthened company-wide management systems and continuous improvement of key environmental metrics. Socially, it elevated human resource practices to meet global benchmarks and rigorously reinforced its robust food safety systems. In terms of governance, Pulmuone enhanced board independence and boosted decision-making transparency, ensuring its corporate structure aligns with international best practices.
Beyond its established ESG excellence, Pulmuone is actively driving food tech innovation to fuel sustainable long-term growth. The company has progressed to the commercialization validation stage for pioneering land-based seaweed farming, a breakthrough that promises stable, year-round production. This innovative venture also garnered recognition, leading to its selection for a national research and development project by Korea’s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
Further demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, Pulmuone is rapidly accelerating its transition to sustainable raw materials. Key initiatives include developing animal welfare farms, implementing advanced robot-assisted vertical farming techniques, and promoting low-carbon agriculture through the innovative use of biochar.
Lee Jeong-eon, Head of Sustainability Management at Pulmuone, commented on the achievement, stating, “These outstanding results unequivocally reflect global recognition of our deep-rooted, long-standing commitment to sustainability, guided by our founding values. We are dedicated to continuously advancing our ESG practices, ensuring they consistently align with the highest global standards.”
