Amid escalating global concerns over the Middle East crisis impacting international supply chains, **South Korea’s Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol** announced Friday the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the stable supply of essential **health care products, daily necessities, and critical raw materials like naphtha**.
Since late February, following US and Israeli strikes on Iran, the vital **Strait of Hormuz** shipping route in the Middle East has faced effective closure, leading to significant **disruptions in the supply of major raw materials** crucial for everyday life and industries worldwide.
Speaking at an emergency **economy ministers’ meeting focused on supply chain disruptions**, Minister Koo emphasized, “The government will diligently monitor the **supply and demand dynamics** of key items, analyze price trends, and assess industry impacts. Our priority is to swiftly resolve corporate challenges stemming from this **supply chain instability**.”
He further underscored the government’s strategic focus on securing **essential raw materials**, specifically **naphtha** – a vital feedstock for **petrochemical and various industrial sectors** – alongside **health care products and daily necessities**, to safeguard national economic resilience.
