Aiming to capitalize on the surging global demand for Korean cuisine and culture, South Korea’s agriculture ministry announced Thursday the selection of 145 leading and emerging companies. These firms are set to spearhead efforts to significantly boost the nation’s food exports.
These selected companies will participate in the ‘Global Next K-food Project,’ an initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. This strategic project is specifically designed to accelerate and expand K-food exports worldwide, as confirmed by ministry officials.
A core objective of the project is to foster robust collaboration between large enterprises and small and medium-sized firms (SMEs). This partnership model aims to jointly develop and effectively promote diverse Korean food products specifically for international markets.
The ministry highlighted that the project will particularly focus on enhancing the export of key categories. These include traditional Korean liquor, halal-certified K-food products, popular Korean street food, functional health foods, and a variety of Korean fruits.
