Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) and global steel giant **Posco** have solidified a strategic partnership, signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Friday at Volvo’s Changwon plant in **South Gyeongsang Province**. This landmark collaboration focuses on developing advanced **core materials and technologies for construction machinery**, driven by a shared commitment to achieving **carbon neutrality** and enhancing sustainability in the industry.

The signing ceremony saw the attendance of key leaders, including **Kang Ho-jin**, Vice President of the R&D section at Volvo CE, and **Lee Kyu-young**, Head of the Steel Solution Research Center at Posco Research Lab. Their presence underscored the significance of this strategic alliance.

This partnership is set to foster a rich exchange of insights into cutting-edge technologies and innovative materials, directly addressing critical industry challenges such as **electrification** and **carbon neutrality**. Both companies will actively pursue **joint research and development (R&D)** of **next-generation materials** specifically engineered for advanced **construction machinery**.

Beyond R&D, the collaboration will extend to comprehensive **equipment testing and technology verification** for the jointly developed materials. Furthermore, they plan to regularly host **technical seminars** and expand their **technical exchange programs**, fostering continuous learning and innovation.
