HD Hyundai Chairman Chung Ki-sun recently concluded a trip to Vietnam, focusing on inspecting key production facilities and reinforcing the importance of safety and effective on-site management. The company announced the details of his visit on Thursday.
During the two-day visit, spanning Tuesday and Wednesday, Chairman Chung toured HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding and HD Hyundai Eco Vina, both crucial production hubs for the company in Vietnam. He meticulously examined manufacturing operations, rigorously reviewed safety protocols, and offered encouragement to the workforce.
“Management begins at the site, and the answers to all problems are found in the field,” stated Chairman Chung. “I will continue to visit frequently and work together with you to find solutions whenever challenges arise.”
This marks Chairman Chung’s fifth on-site inspection since assuming his role in October. His prior visits included domestic facilities in Eumseong and Chungju (North Chungcheong Province), and Ulsan, as well as the HD Hyundai shipyard located in the Philippines.
On Tuesday, Chairman Chung visited the HD Vietnam Shipbuilding yard in Khanh Hoa Province, where he observed the construction of petrochemical product carriers. He emphasized the paramount importance of maintaining a safe working environment during his inspection.
The following day, he traveled to HD Hyundai Eco Vina, situated in the Dung Quat Economic Zone of Quang Ngai Province in central Vietnam. This facility is strategically being developed as a central production base for environmentally friendly independent tanks and port cranes.
This visit was especially significant as it marked Chairman Chung’s first inspection of the site since HD Hyundai completed the acquisition of the facility from Doosan Enerbility in December. He toured vital areas, including the tank production lines, port crane assembly areas, and LNG module manufacturing plants.
Furthermore, Chairman Chung hosted a luncheon for expatriate employees, acknowledging the sacrifices and challenges they face while working away from their families. He expressed his sincere appreciation for their unwavering commitment and dedication.
