Paris Baguette, the globally recognized Korean bakery chain by SPC Group, has unveiled its newest location at Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This strategic expansion reinforces Paris Baguette’s growing presence in the vibrant Southeast Asian market.
Techo International Airport, which commenced operations in September of last year, boasts an impressive annual capacity of 13 million passengers. With Cambodia’s burgeoning tourism sector and a thriving food and beverage industry, the airport is poised to become a pivotal aviation hub within the Indochina Peninsula.
Paris Baguette has strategically leveraged airport locations to enhance brand visibility and accessibility to international travelers. The chain already operates successfully at major airports, including four locations at Singapore’s Changi Airport, one at Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and another at the Philippines’ Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The Phnom Penh store marks the seventh Paris Baguette location in an overseas airport.
Situated conveniently in the arrivals area of Techo International Airport, the new Paris Baguette outlet caters to both airport visitors and arriving passengers. Functioning as a 54-seat bakery cafe, the store specializes in offering takeaway-friendly options such as delectable pastries, freshly brewed coffee, and light meals.
In line with its commitment to localization, Paris Baguette is actively incorporating menu items that cater to regional preferences while subtly integrating authentic Korean flavors. The trio K-spicy sandwich, spicy bulgogi wrap, and spicy kimchi pastry have been particularly well-received, highlighting the brand’s successful adaptation to local tastes.
“Through the Techo International Airport location, we aspire to connect with both local Cambodian customers and international travelers alike,” stated Hana Lee, head of Paris Baguette’s Asia, Middle East and Africa division.
Paris Baguette first entered the Cambodian market in 2021 through a master franchise agreement with local partner HSC Group. Since then, the brand has successfully opened four stores across the country. Paris Baguette currently operates a network of over 720 overseas locations spanning 15 countries, including key markets such as the US, Canada, France, and Mongolia.
