Taihan Cable & Solution Vice Chair Song Jong-min announced plans to elevate the company to a global leadership position within the power infrastructure market during its 85th anniversary celebration on Tuesday.
“Since our establishment as Korea’s first cable company in 1941, we have been instrumental in building the nation’s power industry, connecting cities, factories, and even seas and continents,” stated Song in his commemorative address, highlighting Taihan Cable & Solution’s pivotal role in Korea’s industrial advancement.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of Hoban Group’s acquisition of Taihan Cable. The cable manufacturer has experienced consistent growth under Hoban Group, achieving compound annual growth rates of 16.2 percent in sales and 34.4 percent in operating profit.
Song underscored the increasing importance of robust power infrastructure. “The cable industry’s role is evolving into an essential infrastructure business that connects nations,” he noted, encouraging employees to prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Specifically, Song called for increased differentiation by enhancing competitiveness in key projects where the company has already established a strong reputation in the global market. He emphasized the need for technological development driven by a forward-thinking perspective, aiming to lead the future of the power grid industry.
“Our 85-year history is not merely a reflection of our past achievements but a foundation for building our future,” Song remarked. “I urge all employees to unite their strengths so that Taihan and Hoban can together create a new century of success.”
