Orion Corp. is celebrating 50 years of Ojingeo Peanut, one of Korea’s most iconic and beloved snacks, with a brand-new package design unveiled Friday.
The refreshed packaging proudly features the phrase “50 Years of the Original,” highlighting the snack’s rich history and enduring appeal to Korean consumers across generations.
Since its debut in 1976, Ojingeo Peanut has been a Korean snack staple, renowned for its unique texture and savory flavor. The secret lies in its intricate production process: peanuts are coated with a delicate batter in 28 layers before being baked. This creates a distinctive lattice structure within the snack, delivering its signature crispy crunch.
As a final touch, thin strips of squid are added, resulting in subtle brown lines that not only contribute to the snack’s appealing appearance but also enhance its distinctive savory taste.
