LS Eco Energy announced on Tuesday that its Vietnamese subsidiary, LS-VINA, has secured an annual supply contract with Kitanihon Electric Wire for 6.6-kilovolt CVT distribution cables. This agreement marks LS Eco Energy’s first venture into the power infrastructure market in Japan.

Kitanihon Electric Wire, a subsidiary of Tohoku Electric Power, is a key supplier of distribution cables to major electric utilities across Japan.

The Japanese power infrastructure market is known for its stringent technical standards and rigorous quality control, making it a challenging market to penetrate. LS Eco Energy emphasized that this contract was made possible through close collaboration with its Japanese affiliate, LS Cable & System Japan.

The company views this agreement as a crucial stepping stone for expanding its business operations within Japan and diversifying its product offerings in the region.

“Securing this supply opportunity in Japan, a market with exceptionally demanding technical standards, is a significant achievement,” stated Jang Dong-wook, head of LS-VINA.

“We intend to intensify our efforts in advanced power markets, including Japan, the United States, and Europe, with a focus on high value-added products,” he added.

LS Eco Energy also reported a record-high revenue of approximately 1 trillion won ($680 million) on a provisional basis for 2025. The company anticipates sustained growth momentum this year, fueled by increasing global demand for robust power infrastructure and a rise in exports.
