Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on Thursday that its TIGER Kosdaq150 ETF has exceeded 2 trillion won ($1.5 billion) in net assets. This milestone was achieved due to strong market performance and renewed policy focus on the Kosdaq market.
According to the Korea Exchange, the ETF’s net assets reached 2.29 trillion won as of Wednesday’s market close. The fund has attracted 1.96 trillion won in inflows year-to-date, representing nearly a sevenfold expansion in size.
The TIGER Kosdaq150 ETF has delivered a 36.15 percent return during the same period. Retail investors have shown strong interest, with net purchases amounting to 799.5 billion won.
The TIGER Kosdaq150 ETF tracks the performance of 150 leading companies listed on the Kosdaq, providing diversified exposure to key growth sectors such as biotechnology, secondary batteries, semiconductor materials and components, and robotics.
This ETF aims to capitalize on the structural growth of Korea’s innovation-driven industries while minimizing the volatility associated with investing in individual stocks.
The Kosdaq index recently surpassed the 1,000-point level for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by improved investor sentiment and expectations of government policy support. This positive momentum has gradually extended from large-cap stocks to growth-oriented companies listed on the Kosdaq.
The government has recently highlighted Kosdaq market reform as a key policy priority, with the goal of enhancing market credibility and fostering innovation. Authorities are actively working to revise performance evaluation criteria for the National Pension Service and other institutional investors to encourage increased allocations to Kosdaq-listed companies.
Furthermore, financial regulators have introduced measures to strengthen delisting standards and improve overall market discipline.
