South Korea’s Agriculture Ministry announced plans on Wednesday to lower **pork prices** this month. This proactive measure, developed in consultation with the **meat processing industry**, aims to significantly ease the financial **burden on consumers** across the nation.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed that these **price cuts** will be applied to several popular **pork cuts**, including **pork belly**, **pork neck**, and **pork hind leg**, offering widespread relief.

Specifically, three companies are set to reduce **pork hind leg meat prices** by an average of 4% to 5% on a substantial combined supply of 750 tons. Additionally, five other firms will implement even more significant **price reductions** for **pork belly** and **pork neck**, with cuts ranging from an average of 5.9% to an impressive 28.6% across 288 tons of these key products.

This initiative follows recent, extensive discussions between the Ministry and vital **industry players**, all focused on effective **price stabilization strategies**. These collaborative talks included a joint review with experts to determine optimal **inventory levels for pork hind leg cuts**, ensuring sustainable supply and pricing.

Agriculture Minister Song Mi-ryung highlighted the importance of industry commitment. She stated, “The industry’s participation in these **pork price cuts** is especially meaningful given the current **challenging global conditions** and uncertainties, including ongoing conflicts.”

She further affirmed the Ministry’s ongoing commitment, adding, “We will continue our dedicated efforts to **stabilize prices** by consistently improving **distribution practices** and strategically **reducing logistics costs within the livestock sector** for long-term benefit.”
