SK hynix Inc. has announced its strategic plans to commence full-scale supply of its cutting-edge storage solution, specifically optimized for artificial intelligence (AI) powered personal computers (AI PCs), to Dell Technologies starting this month. This significant move highlights SK hynix’s commitment to advancing the burgeoning AI PC market.
The prominent South Korean chipmaker has officially launched the PQC21, its revolutionary new solid-state drive (SSD). This innovative SSD integrates the industry-leading 321-layer QLC (Quad-Level Cell) NAND flash technology. QLC, or quad-level cell, is a highly efficient memory cell type utilized in NAND flash, capable of storing four bits of data within a single cell, thereby enabling significantly higher storage densities for next-generation devices.
“This next-generation PQC21 storage solution is engineered to deliver unparalleled high capacity, superior performance, and exceptional power efficiency,” stated an SK hynix representative in a recent release. “It is perfectly positioned to meet the escalating demand for highly efficient and robust storage solutions crucial for advanced AI PC environments.”
Following the initial rollout to Dell Technologies, SK hynix confirms its plans to strategically expand the supply of the PQC21 to a wide array of other major global partners, further solidifying its presence in the global storage market and driving the adoption of advanced AI PC technology.
