French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) Joins Forces with MEDEF International to Boost Economic Ties Between France and Korea
The French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) recently hosted a significant gathering in Seoul, bringing together numerous representatives from French companies to explore and discuss strategic approaches for conducting business effectively within the dynamic Korean market.
This pivotal business event coincided with a high-profile summit in Seoul, where Korean President Lee Jae Myung welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron. This marked President Macron’s first visit to Korea since 2015, underscoring the renewed focus on strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
A key highlight of the forum, held at the prestigious FKI building in Yeouido, Seoul, was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the FKCCI and MEDEF International. MEDEF International is a prominent private organization representing France’s largest employers’ federation, signifying a powerful alliance for future collaboration.
The FKCCI stated that this strategic MOU is designed to significantly enhance coordination between the two influential organizations. Its core objectives include fostering the international growth and development of French companies and systematically structuring France-Korea economic exchanges. This will be achieved through a series of collaborative initiatives, including reciprocal business delegations, specialized forums, and targeted B2B networking events.
During his address at the event, FKCCI Chair David-Pierre Jalicon emphasized the long-term significance of this agreement, stating, “Today’s signing firmly anchors our relationship for the future and underscores the imperative for collective action to sustainably strengthen the economic ties between France and Korea.”
Echoing these sentiments, MEDEF International Chair Frederic Sanchez also highlighted the critical importance of continuously enhancing business relations with Korea. He underscored that unity and collaboration are paramount for successfully navigating complex international dynamics and forging robust, enduring partnerships within the Korean market.
A subsequent discussion featuring FKCCI Board members Philippe Li, Julien Herveau, Gerald Massenet, Ida Daussy, and David-Pierre Jalicon provided valuable insights for French companies navigating the Korean business landscape. They collectively stressed the fundamental importance of long-term engagement, cultivating trust, and developing deep cultural understanding for successful operations in Korea.
