Pioneering the future of electric mobility, LG Energy Solution has announced its landmark entry as the first battery manufacturer into SDVerse, the premier automotive software marketplace. This strategic move underscores the South Korean battery giant’s accelerated commitment to the rapidly expanding software-defined vehicle (SDV) market.
SDVerse operates as a cutting-edge business-to-business (B2B) marketplace platform, forged through collaborations with automotive industry stalwarts including General Motors, Canadian parts manufacturer Magna International, and Indian IT services firm Wipro. This innovative platform empowers automakers, global component suppliers, and software developers to seamlessly transact and integrate vehicle software within a unified digital environment.
As part of its SDVerse debut, LG Energy Solution has unveiled a comprehensive suite of five advanced battery management software solutions. These include innovative battery platform software, a robust safety diagnostic calibration tool, along with specialized onboard FRISM, onboard BLiS, and onboard DASH systems.
The core battery platform software delivers in-depth, comprehensive analysis of critical battery conditions. Complementing this, the safety diagnostic calibration tool offers essential software functionality for conducting rigorous safety checks and precise simulation verification, all powered by extensive battery data.
Onboard FRISM utilizes advanced algorithm-based software to project future battery conditions by leveraging real-world field data. It employs sophisticated machine learning techniques to precisely assess battery degradation levels. Furthermore, Onboard BLiS (Battery Life Simulator) is a powerful algorithm specifically designed to predict battery degradation and accurately estimate performance shifts across diverse operational scenarios.
Rounding out the suite, Onboard DASH (Degradation Reduction Action Strategy for Battery Health) is an intelligent algorithm uniquely tailored for electric vehicles (EVs). It performs quantitative analysis of individual user driving and charging patterns, continuously monitors battery conditions in real time, and offers personalized guidance to optimize battery health and ensure long-term, sustainable EV use.
“We are happy to showcase LG Energy Solution’s cutting-edge battery management software and SDV-tailored battery planning,” stated Prashant Gulati, CEO of SDVerse.
“Ahead of the transformative SDV era, LG Energy Solution is committed to reinforcing its technical leadership to accelerate growth in the dynamic electric vehicle and battery market,” affirmed Kim Je-young, CTO of LG Energy Solution. He emphasized the company’s ambition to solidify its unparalleled position as a total solution provider.
