Woori Bank Vietnam has announced the appointment of Bae Tae-in as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately.
Bae Tae-in brings a wealth of experience to the role, with 28 years in the Woori Financial Group. He has held prominent leadership positions across various key divisions of Woori Bank. Notably, he served as the Branch Manager of the Dong Nai branch in Vietnam from 2020 to 2024, where he spearheaded significant growth for the branch.
Woori Bank Vietnam emphasized that Bae’s direct experience and comprehensive understanding of the Vietnamese market were crucial factors in his selection. He is expected to guide the bank’s growth through strategies specifically designed for the evolving dynamics of the local market.
CEO Bae highlighted Vietnam’s burgeoning young population and high smartphone adoption rates as significant drivers for growth. He stated the bank’s commitment to enhancing customer experience by revamping its mobile banking app and expanding its range of digital financial services.
Bae further emphasized the bank’s dedication to a customer-centric approach, alongside the pursuit of mid- to long-term growth strategies. A key focus will be on expanding operations and improving service quality to cater to the increasingly diverse needs of customers.
In related news, Woori Bank Vietnam plans to further develop its “Two Chairs” private banking service. This personalized wealth management model, introduced in Vietnam in 2023 for premium clients, has gained considerable popularity among affluent individuals.
The bank has also recently launched new credit card options, including the Woori VV Premium card and the Woori Visa Korean Air card, further diversifying its financial product portfolio.
