BTS recently performed at the “Spotify X BTS: Seaside” event on the rooftop of Pier 17 in Manhattan, New York City. The performance followed a free concert in Seoul at Gwanghwamun, celebrating the release of their fifth studio album, “Arirang.”
The exclusive show hosted 1,000 dedicated fans chosen by Spotify based on their BTS streaming activity. This intimate performance contrasted with their larger “Permission to Dance on Stage” concerts in Las Vegas in April 2022, which had a capacity of 40,000.
The members displayed emotion throughout the set, showcasing new tracks such as “Swim,” “Normal,” and “Fya.”
Jimin began the show with a heartfelt “Thank you,” responding to the enthusiastic cheers of the audience with “I love you, too.”
“The important thing is we’re back together after so long. This is a happy moment. We missed you so much, and it’s an honor to finally perform on stage for you,” Jimin expressed.
Pier 17, overlooking the East River and Brooklyn Bridge, has previously welcomed music icons like Snoop Dogg and Eminem. RM acknowledged the venue’s significance, stating, “It’s an honor for us to do the first stage in America here.”
“It’s really meaningful for us … We seven and you ARMYs. That’s all. We can’t take over the world,” RM added, referring to the group’s global fan base, ARMY.
Responding to pre-submitted questions, RM commented on the ARMY’s growing beauty and expressed amazement at the turnout despite the cold weather.
Jungkook exclaimed, “What a beautiful ARMY!” and thanked the fans for their dedication in braving the cold.
V added, “It’s been a long time since we’ve heard ARMY cheers in the U.S. I’m so happy.”
