LS Eco Energy announced on Tuesday that its Vietnamese subsidiary, LSCV, has been awarded an $8 million contract to provide bus ducts for a new hyperscale data center under construction in Malaysia. The data center is being built by a major global IT corporation.
Bus ducts, essential components for high-capacity power distribution, are vital for hyperscale data centers. These data centers require substantial electricity to operate the infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing services.
LSCV will deliver the bus ducts in stages, aligning with the construction timeline of the data center located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Johor Bahru is rapidly becoming a prominent destination for global data center investments, benefiting from its reliable power infrastructure and readily available land.
This agreement follows LSCV’s successful acquisition of a data center project in Indonesia last October, demonstrating the company’s growing presence in the ASEAN market in response to increasing demand for advanced power infrastructure solutions.
Lee Sang-ho, CEO of LS Eco Energy, commented on the surging demand for power solutions driven by the rapid expansion of data centers fueled by AI and cloud technologies.
“We are committed to expanding our order book in the ASEAN data center market by strengthening our power infrastructure business, including the supply of bus ducts and power cables,” stated Lee.
