Taihan Cable & Solution announced the groundbreaking of a new ultrahigh voltage (UHV) cable plant by its Vietnamese subsidiary, Taihan Cable Vina, in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. This marks Taihan Cable’s first overseas facility dedicated to manufacturing 400kV-class cables, bolstering its global presence in the power infrastructure sector.
This strategic project aligns with Taihan Cable’s broader initiative to expand its international manufacturing capabilities and address the increasing global demand for advanced power grid infrastructure solutions.
Located within the Long Thanh Industrial Complex, the new UHV cable plant will occupy a 56,200-square-meter site, adjacent to Taihan Cable Vina’s existing production facility. Construction is slated for completion with operations commencing in 2027.
This significant investment will allow Taihan Cable to substantially increase its UHV cable production capacity, enhancing its ability to effectively serve key global markets, including Southeast Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania.
Vietnam is experiencing rapid growth in electricity demand, projected to increase by 10-12% annually through 2030. The country’s ambitious plans for large-scale transmission network projects position the new Taihan Cable Vina plant as a crucial hub for supporting Vietnam’s power grid expansion.
“Leveraging over 20 years of manufacturing excellence and strong quality competitiveness, Taihan Cable Vina has been instrumental in driving our overseas business growth,” stated Kim Joon-seok, Vice President of Taihan Cable & Solution, at the groundbreaking ceremony.
“This new facility will play a vital role in supporting Vietnam’s power grid development and reinforcing our position in the global energy infrastructure market,” Kim Joon-seok added.
