Korea Zinc announced its participation in InterBattery 2026, emphasizing its crucial role in bolstering South Korea’s resource security by producing strategic minerals essential for advanced industries like batteries, semiconductors, and defense. The company’s presence highlights its commitment to national economic resilience through its core competencies.
Marking its fifth consecutive year at InterBattery since 2022, Korea Zinc will showcase its 52 years of unparalleled technological expertise as a global leader in non-ferrous metals smelting. The company plans to present a comprehensive portfolio encompassing advanced battery materials and critical minerals. InterBattery 2026 will take place from Wednesday to Friday at COEX in Seoul.
Korea Zinc will also feature the synergistic power of its “Troika Drive” growth strategy, spearheaded by Chairman Choi Yun-birm. This strategy strategically focuses on three key business pillars: resource recycling, renewable energy and green hydrogen, and the production of advanced battery materials.
The Korea Zinc booth will be divided into eight themed zones, offering visitors an engaging experience. These zones will include a detailed value chain diorama, displays of high-quality copper foil, nickel sulfate, and precursor materials, demonstrations of strategic minerals, information about its groundbreaking integrated smelter project in the United States, and dedicated sections showcasing its technological prowess and the history of its expansive global network.
The central attraction of the exhibition will be a large diorama meticulously illustrating Korea Zinc’s battery materials value chain, emphasizing its robust production capabilities for essential components like nickel sulfate, precursors, and copper foil. Visitors will also have the opportunity to examine copper foil produced entirely from recycled copper by Kzam, a subsidiary of Korea Zinc, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainability.
A significant emphasis will be placed on strategic minerals and the integrated smelter currently under construction in the US. The booth will feature models of over 10 different non-ferrous metals and critical minerals. These models will vividly demonstrate Korea Zinc’s vital role in stabilizing global supply chains and actively strengthening resource security for South Korea and its allies.
