Nol Universe announced on Tuesday that its global travel and entertainment booking platform, Nol World, achieved a record 2.64 million monthly active users in January. This surge was largely attributed to an influx of Chinese tourists during the Lunar New Year holiday and the platform’s success in K-pop concert ticketing.
This figure represents an impressive 33-fold increase compared to the same period last year, marking the highest monthly user count since Nol World’s initial launch. The platform also experienced rapid membership growth, adding approximately 300,000 new users in January, bringing the total user base to over 8.7 million.
In December, Nol World expanded its services beyond solely ticketing, strategically repositioning itself as a comprehensive, performance-based travel platform. This allows users to conveniently book accommodations, activities, and transportation alongside their concert tickets.
Following this strategic revamp, a noticeable shift in user behavior has been observed. Many concert attendees are now utilizing Nol World to book travel-related services. Notably, some international users have indicated that securing concert tickets through Nol World was a primary motivation for their visit to Korea.
Purchases of tours and activity products in January experienced a remarkable 20-fold increase compared to the previous year. Platform data highlights that transportation-related services, including eSIM packages, the Arex express train, and airport pickup services, recorded the highest volume of bookings.
The trend of bundled consumption, combining concert attendance with local experiences, is also gaining significant traction. Services like Galaxy Ultra smartphone rentals, popular among concertgoers for their high-definition zoom capabilities, and traditional Hanbok rental services have witnessed a surge in demand.
“Global users drawn by K-pop concerts are clearly moving beyond simple ticket purchases to booking transportation and local experiences,” stated a company official, highlighting the platform’s evolving role in facilitating comprehensive travel experiences.
