Pulmuone, a leading Korean food company, showcased a blend of authentic Korean flavors and innovative plant-based options at Natural Products Expo West 2026, held from March 4-6 in Anaheim, California. The event highlighted the growing interest in Korean cuisine and sustainable food choices.
As a prominent tofu manufacturer, Pulmuone has been a consistent presence at the expo since 2003. This year, the company introduced a range of plant-based convenient foods, including tofu products, plant-based meats, dumplings, and flavorful fried rice, all designed to appeal to health-conscious consumers.
The company’s booth this year emphasized tofu and kimchi, highlighting both their market leadership in tofu production and their deep roots in Korean food culture. This strategic focus also aligns with the recent US government dietary guidelines, which recognized the nutritional benefits of both tofu and kimchi.
Celebrity chef Edward Lee, a frequent collaborator with Pulmuone, made a special appearance at the event. Chef Lee hosted a signing session and presented unique recipes featuring Pulmuone products, including creative dishes like “Kimchi Bibim Soy Milk Noodles” and “Kimchi Tofu Shakshouka.”
Pulmuone also previewed upcoming product releases scheduled for later in the year. These included gluten-free soy milk noodles, a low-calorie, high-fiber, and calcium-rich noodle option that requires no washing or cooking. Also showcased was “Yakisoba,” a new addition to their popular line of Asian-inspired noodles, and convenient plant-based “Garlic and Herb Wraps” perfect for on-the-go consumption.
The demand for plant-based protein continues to surge in the United States, driven by consumers seeking healthier and more sustainable food alternatives. Pulmuone is well-positioned to meet this growing demand with its diverse product offerings.
Pulmuone’s tofu business experienced significant growth, with a 12.2 percent year-over-year increase, reaching a record annual revenue of 224 billion won ($150 million). To support further growth and meet increasing local demand, the company plans to expand production capacity by adding new tofu manufacturing lines at its existing facility in Ayer, Massachusetts.
“Pulmuone is dedicated to promoting healthy and sustainable Korean diets on a global scale through innovative products that blend fresh, wholesome ingredients with authentic Korean food culture,” stated Kim Suk-won, Head of Global Marketing at Pulmuone USA.
