BLACKPINK’s highly anticipated comeback is breaking records! YG Entertainment announced that the group’s new album sold an impressive 1.46 million copies on its first day of release, Friday.
YG Entertainment stated, “This milestone not only represents BLACKPINK’s best first-day sales figures to date, but it also establishes a new benchmark for first-day sales among all K-pop girl groups.”
Marking their first full-group release in over three years, this album has generated significant excitement and anticipation among fans globally.
The EP has already achieved No. 1 status on iTunes Top Albums charts in 32 countries.
The lead single, “Go,” quickly climbed to the eighth position on Melon’s Top 100 chart, a leading music streaming platform in South Korea, as of 10 a.m.
“Go” boasts powerful sound production and a captivating chant-driven hook. The album also includes the previously released track “Jump,” the retro hip-hop inspired “Me and My,” the anthemic song “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy,” which is described as a more nuanced and emotionally resonant track.
