Kang Sue-jin, former principal dancer with the Stuttgart Ballet, is celebrated for her successful leadership of the Korean National Ballet (KNB) since assuming the role in February 2014.
During her tenure as Artistic Director, the KNB significantly broadened its repertoire to include neoclassical and contemporary ballet pieces. She also strengthened the company’s focus on nurturing talent through initiatives like the KNB Movement Series. Upon her retirement from the KNB, Kang Sue-jin will become a faculty member at Seoul Cyber University.
In a statement released by the KNB, Kang described her time with the company as “the happiest time” of her life. She expressed her commitment to “serve as a mentor for future generations and repay the love I have received as an artist.”
