HDC Group is set to rebrand several key affiliates, dropping the “HDC” name in favor of “IPark” for its life-sector businesses. This significant brand identity shift coincides with the group’s 50th anniversary.
Announced Thursday, the name changes are subject to shareholder approval at upcoming general meetings. This rebranding is part of a strategic portfolio reorganization focusing on three key areas: life, artificial intelligence, and energy.
The proposed changes include renaming HDC Hyundai Development to IPark Hyundai Development. Other affiliates slated for rebranding with the IPark name include HDC I&Cons, HDC IPark Mall, HDC Shilla Duty Free, HDC Youngchang, HDC Sports, HDC Resort, and Hotel HDC.
This strategic move positions IPark, previously known as the group’s residential and lifestyle platform brand, as the primary brand for its life-business division. This division encompasses construction, retail, leisure, and cultural ventures.
HDC stated that the rebranding signifies a strategic pivot, shifting focus from corporate heritage to customer value and lifestyle-centric branding. By highlighting IPark, the group aims to strengthen its consumer connection and unify its life-related businesses under a single, recognizable brand.
Affiliates operating within the AI and energy sectors will continue to use the HDC name.
The group plans to unveil a new corporate identity and long-term vision at a ceremony commemorating its 50th anniversary on March 18th. The revised corporate names will be officially adopted following board approvals and shareholder agreement.
HDC previously executed a major renaming of affiliates in 2018 during its transition to a holding company structure. This latest rebranding initiative represents a more targeted branding strategy, separating consumer-facing businesses under the IPark brand while maintaining HDC as the overarching identity for technology and infrastructure operations.
