South Korean cosmetics giant Amorepacific has bounced back, reporting annual sales exceeding 4 trillion won ($2.7 billion) in 2025, a milestone achieved for the first time in three years. The company’s operating profit surged by over 50 percent, driven by a successful overseas expansion strategy.

According to the company’s announcement on Sunday, Amorepacific recorded a 9.5 percent increase in revenue, reaching 4.25 trillion won in 2025 compared to the previous year. Operating profit witnessed a significant jump of 52.3 percent, totaling 335.8 billion won.

This strong performance propelled Amorepacific Group’s consolidated revenue to 4.6 trillion won, marking an 8.5 percent increase year-over-year. Operating profit reached 368 billion won, the group’s highest level since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company’s strategic shift towards greater reliance on Western markets has proven fruitful. Overseas revenue soared by 15 percent, and operating profit more than doubled, contrasting with a 5 percent growth in domestic sales.

Amorepacific attributed its success to strong demand for skincare products and the successful launch of new brands, including Aestura and Hanyul. These factors contributed to a 20 percent increase in sales in the Americas. Revenue in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa surged by 42 percent, driven by expanded distribution networks. Following restructuring, China returned to profitability, while Japan and Southeast Asia demonstrated solid growth, supported by derma brands Aestura and Illiyoon.

“We aim to become a global beauty leader through expansion in core markets, integrated beauty solutions, and innovation powered by biotechnology and artificial intelligence,” stated a company official.

Amorepacific’s financial rebound stands in stark contrast to the performance of rival LG Household & Health Care, which struggled with weak demand in China and restructuring costs.

LG H&H’s fourth-quarter revenue fell by 8.5 percent year-over-year to 1.47 trillion won, resulting in an operating loss. For the full year, sales declined by 6.7 percent to 6.36 trillion won, while operating profit plummeted by 62.8 percent to 170.7 billion won.

While brands such as Dr. Groot and Euthymol experienced strong growth in the US and Japan, revenue in China declined by 8.7 percent, impacting overall overseas performance. “In China and the domestic market, we plan to focus on improving profitability through continued restructuring of our duty-free operations,” said an LG H&H official.

LG H&H has announced plans to stage a turnaround by expanding in fast-growing digital and health-and-beauty retail channels while intensifying its efforts in overseas markets.
