**Samsung Electronics Expands Middle East Footprint with Major HVAC Deal for Saudi Mosques**
Samsung Electronics announced a significant expansion of its commercial HVAC presence in the Middle East, confirming the supply of over 1,000 advanced ceiling-mounted air conditioners. These cutting-edge units are being installed across approximately 100 mosques in eight major Saudi cities, including the capital, Riyadh, underscoring Samsung’s commitment to large-scale commercial air conditioning projects in the region.
The core of this extensive rollout features Samsung’s innovative “360 Cassette” system. Renowned as the industry’s first ceiling cassette to adopt a circular rather than traditional square design, these units offer superior airflow and aesthetic integration. Engineered for the demanding climate, the outdoor units are specifically designed to maintain peak cooling performance even in ambient temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the interior panels boast custom designs, thoughtfully inspired by intricate Islamic patterns, blending advanced technology with local cultural aesthetics.
A critical design consideration for these sacred prayer spaces was low-noise operation. Samsung prioritized quiet performance, ensuring the HVAC systems contribute to a serene and comfortable environment without acoustic interference.
This landmark project follows a strategic memorandum of understanding signed in June between Samsung and Ghoroos Charity, a key Saudi partner actively involved in mosque renovation initiatives. Samsung has expressed its intent to cultivate and expand this cooperation, pursuing further supply agreements throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Adding to a robust portfolio of Middle East business-to-business (B2B) engagements over the past year, this project reinforces Samsung’s diverse regional impact. Previous successes include the provision of advanced system air conditioners for Riyadh’s public transit facilities in 2025 and the implementation of its state-of-the-art b.IoT building integration platform at the prestigious Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai in the UAE.
Samsung is strategically intensifying its focus on commercial and industrial HVAC solutions globally. This strategic direction was highlighted last November with the acquisition of Germany’s FlaktGroup, a leading commercial HVAC specialist, for 1.5 billion euros ($1.72 billion) – Samsung’s largest deal since its 2016 acquisition of Harman. This move underscores Samsung’s ambition to become a dominant force in the global HVAC market, which Global Market Insights projects to reach $564.8 billion by 2026 and an impressive $1.2 trillion by 2035.
“This supply deal powerfully demonstrates the competitiveness and adaptability of our customized HVAC solutions, which are meticulously designed to reflect the unique characteristics of worship spaces and local culture,” stated Lim Sung-taek, vice president of Samsung’s digital appliances business. He further affirmed Samsung’s unwavering dedication to expanding its Middle East B2B HVAC business by consistently delivering region-specific and culturally sensitive solutions.
