Daewoong Pharmaceutical proudly announced Monday that its flagship botulinum toxin product, Nabota, has achieved a remarkable milestone: surpassing 1 trillion won ($665 million) in cumulative global sales as of June 30. This significant achievement comes just 12 years after its initial domestic launch, underscoring Nabota’s formidable market presence and success in the competitive aesthetics industry.
Nabota has demonstrated exceptional growth, recording an impressive average annual sales growth rate of 57 percent between 2019 and 2025. Annual sales figures for the innovative botulinum toxin soared past 200 billion won in 2025, directly contributing to its rapid ascent beyond the 1 trillion won cumulative sales mark.
The global expansion of this premium botulinum toxin has been propelled by crucial regulatory approvals from leading health authorities worldwide, including the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and Health Canada. Marketed as Nabota in Korea and various international markets, it is recognized as Jeuveau in the United States and Nuceiva across Europe, solidifying its diverse brand identity and widespread availability.
Daewoong attributes Nabota’s phenomenal growth to its robust global partnerships and finely-tuned localized marketing strategies. The company successfully established a strong foothold in the critical U.S. market through a strategic alliance with aesthetics leader Evolus, while simultaneously broadening its commercial reach across key regions such as South America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
To effectively address the escalating global demand for its advanced botulinum toxin, Daewoong Pharmaceutical is actively constructing a state-of-the-art dedicated toxin production plant. Scheduled for completion in 2027, this new facility will dramatically expand annual production capacity by more than threefold, from 5 million to an impressive 16 million vials. The plant will integrate cutting-edge aseptic filling processes, sophisticated automated packaging systems, and advanced digital quality control technology, ensuring compliance with the most stringent global regulatory standards.
Looking beyond its current success in botulinum toxin, Daewoong is strategically expanding its comprehensive aesthetics portfolio. Future plans include venturing into innovative skin boosters, advanced dermal fillers, specialized cosmetics, and developing next-generation toxin products. The company is also committed to pioneering collagen-inducing products utilizing biodegradable materials and establishing a cutting-edge medical aesthetics platform powered by advanced biomaterial technologies.
“Achieving 1 trillion won in cumulative sales is a clear testament to Nabota’s outstanding product competitiveness and the effectiveness of our strategic global market penetration,” stated Yoon Jun-su, Head of the Nabota Business Division at Daewoong Pharmaceutical, highlighting the brand’s pivotal role in the company’s overall success.
