The prestigious Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), a leading event for genre cinema held in Bucheon, west of Seoul, recently celebrated its acclaimed award winners.
Among the international selections, “Leviticus” received high praise from the jury, being hailed for “opening up striking new possibilities for queer horror.” Director Curry Barker’s compelling work, “Obsession,” was recognized with the Best Director Choice award, while Jane Schoenbrum’s thought-provoking film, “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,” secured the coveted Jury’s Choice prize.
In the competitive Korean features category, Jeong Beom’s powerful film, “Knock,” impressively clinched both the esteemed Best of Bucheon awards and the Audience Award, marking it as a significant triumph.
This year’s BIFAN showcases an expansive program, featuring 321 diverse features and shorts from 50 countries globally. The renowned genre film festival, held annually in Bucheon, concludes its exciting run this Sunday, offering cinephiles a final chance to experience its unique selection.
