In a significant move to accelerate advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics, senior executives from LG Group are set to visit Nvidia’s headquarters in California this week. This high-level delegation aims to build upon the strategic discussions held recently between LG Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, focusing on deeper collaboration in ‘physical AI’ and cutting-edge robotics.

Industry sources confirmed that a delegation comprising key executives from LG’s major affiliates will convene with Nvidia officials this Monday at the renowned U.S. chipmaker’s Santa Clara headquarters. This meeting signifies a swift progression from initial talks to concrete operational planning.

The distinguished LG delegation includes prominent leaders such as LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-gyoon, LG Sciencepark President Chung Sue-hyun, LG Electronics Chief Technology Officer Kim Byoung-hoon, Lee Hyeon-wook, head of LG Electronics’ HS Research Center, and LG Innotek’s Chief Technology Officer John Min. Their diverse expertise underscores the broad scope of this strategic partnership.

With approximately 30 executives and working-level officials participating from LG Electronics, LG Innotek, LG CNS, and LG AI Research, the visit highlights LG’s unified commitment to pioneering AI innovation across its various business units.

The agenda for the visit includes comprehensive technical sessions and in-depth discussions focused on identifying and developing potential joint projects. The primary goal is to explore synergistic opportunities that promise significant business growth and technological breakthroughs.

At the senior management level, a key topic will be further consolidating LG’s group-wide capabilities under its ‘One LG’ strategy. This initiative aims to seamlessly integrate the strengths of its electronics, component, IT service, and advanced AI research arms, creating a formidable force for innovation.

This critical follow-up visit occurs merely two weeks after the landmark meeting between Chairman Koo and CEO Huang at LG Group headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on June 8. During that pivotal discussion, both leaders forged an agreement to significantly expand cooperation in pivotal areas such as physical AI, robust AI infrastructure, and future mobility solutions, including the groundbreaking joint development of reference robots.

The rapid succession of these high-level engagements unequivocally signals the strong commitment of both companies to swiftly translate their top-level strategic agreement into tangible, collaborative working projects.

LG is actively pursuing the powerful synergy of integrating Nvidia’s cutting-edge, full-stack AI platform with its own extensive capabilities across diverse sectors. These include pioneering home appliances, advanced robotics, innovative mobility components, intelligent smart spaces, and robust AI infrastructure. The group’s ambitious goal is to broadly deploy these sophisticated AI technologies across industrial sites, a myriad of connected devices, and enrich everyday living spaces globally.

An industry source aptly summarized the profound potential of this partnership: ‘Nvidia contributes its unparalleled AI stack, while LG offers the essential products and vast manufacturing sites where this transformative technology can be rigorously tested and successfully deployed. This unique combination makes ‘physical AI’ an inherently natural and highly promising domain for collaborative innovation between the two industry leaders.’
