Summer Peng, general manager at Xiaomi Korea (Xiaomi Korea)

Xiaomi Korea has officially announced the appointment of Summer Peng as its new general manager, signaling a strategic move to significantly enhance the Chinese electronics brand’s operations and strengthen its market presence across Korea.

Ms. Peng brings a wealth of experience, having previously spearheaded Xiaomi’s successful operations in Hong Kong and Macau. Her tenure there was marked by remarkable achievements in expanding market share, optimizing multichannel retail operations, and elevating the company’s premium brand positioning.

Prior to her impactful career at Xiaomi, Peng honed her expertise through key roles in sales, product development, and consumer strategy at other prominent Chinese technology giants such as Huawei, Skyworth, and OPPO.

Xiaomi Korea clarified that this leadership transition is a vital component of its regular management reshuffle, strategically designed to bolster competitiveness within the rapidly evolving global market. Looking ahead, the company is committed to enhancing its product portfolio, significantly expanding retail and distribution networks, and fostering deeper, more meaningful partnerships with Korean consumers and local businesses.

Demonstrating its commitment to the Korean market, Xiaomi has recently diversified its local product lineup. This expansion includes cutting-edge smartphones like the Xiaomi 17 series and the POCO X8 Pro series, alongside innovative AIoT devices such as the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 and the Xiaomi Pad 8, catering to a broader range of consumer needs.

Furthermore, Xiaomi has significantly fortified its after-sales service network across Korea. Last year saw the inauguration of its first dedicated service center conveniently located near Seoul Station. Currently, the company supports its users through a robust network of 12 QAid in-house service centers and an extensive 53 field service locations nationwide, ensuring comprehensive customer support.

Andrew Li, Head of East Asia at Xiaomi, commended Ms. Peng’s impressive track record, stating, “Summer Peng has consistently driven substantial growth across diverse markets, leveraging her exceptional leadership and profound operational experience.”

Li further emphasized, “Her unique expertise and formidable execution capabilities are poised to significantly contribute to Xiaomi Korea’s sustained growth and enhance its competitive edge within the dynamic Korean market.”

Articulating her vision, Summer Peng stated that Xiaomi Korea is dedicated to expanding Korean consumers’ access to the company’s comprehensive smart ecosystem. This will be achieved through a wider product lineup and varied pricing strategies, all while driving sustainable growth through strategic partnerships.
