Chinese tourists visiting South Korea will soon experience enhanced convenience for local taxi services, thanks to a new partnership between China’s ride-hailing giant DiDi Chuxing and Korea’s T-money Mobility.
T-money Mobility, the dedicated mobility-focused spin-off from T-money, officially announced its collaboration with DiDi Chuxing, enabling seamless taxi hailing for Chinese visitors across Korea.
The strategic alliance was formalized at a signing ceremony held on April 23rd at DiDi Chuxing’s headquarters in Beijing. Through this partnership, Chinese tourists will gain real-time access to T-money Go’s popular Onda Taxis directly via their familiar DiDi app.
This initiative is poised to significantly upgrade the transportation experience for Chinese travelers in South Korea. They will benefit from unparalleled convenience, using an app they already trust without the need for additional software downloads or navigating complex new protocols.
A substantial increase in taxi demand from Chinese tourists is anticipated across key Korean tourist destinations. This includes bustling areas like Seoul, the picturesque Jeju Island, Chuncheon, and the expansive Gyeonggi Province, providing a much-needed boost to the local taxi industry.
Following the successful launch of this partnership, T-money Mobility plans to extend robust support and promotional activities specifically for taxi drivers. By diversifying transportation options and strengthening cooperation with leading global taxi platforms, T-money Mobility aims to evolve into a comprehensive mobility platform that seamlessly connects diverse transportation services with integrated payment solutions.
Emphasizing the modern traveler’s expectations, Cho Dong-wook, CEO of T-money Mobility, stated, “Today, people use the apps they are accustomed to even when traveling overseas. Starting with this pivotal partnership, we are committed to strengthening global mobility connections, empowering Chinese tourists to navigate Korea with greater convenience and ease.”
T-money Mobility continues to solidify its presence as a leading mobility fintech platform company. By offering comprehensive transportation services, particularly those centered on public transportation, and by forging strategic partnerships and securing critical investments, the company is demonstrating strong growth momentum in the competitive mobility sector.
