Global sensation BTS showcased their unparalleled variety show charm with the return of ‘Run BTS 2.0,’ even as leader RM faced recent ‘smoking allegations’ in a non-smoking zone.
The first episode of the group’s highly anticipated self-produced variety content, ‘Run BTS 2.0,’ premiered on April 23rd at 9 PM KST across BTS’s official channels and the global superfan platform Weverse.
Upon arriving at their accommodation late that night, the members immediately dived into a ‘Room Assignment Game.’ The segment delivered immense laughter to viewers as four members humorously crammed into a two-person room, screaming and creating chaos, while Jungkook, to everyone’s amusement, secured the most comfortable three-person room all to himself.
The ‘Zombie Game,’ played to decide who would clean up after dinner, quickly devolved into utter pandemonium. Blindfolded and acting as zombies, the members awkwardly stumbled around in search of ‘citizens,’ engaging in hilarious physical comedy. Their frantic attempts to catch the citizens without sight eventually led to them tangling with each other and even launching into an impromptu pillow fight. Post-game, they burst into childlike, innocent laughter, exclaiming that their ‘cheeks hurt from laughing so much.’

‘Run BTS’ is BTS’s iconic self-produced variety show, which first debuted in 2015. After a hiatus following special content in 2023, the show has made its much-anticipated return after approximately three years. New episodes are released every Thursday at 9 PM KST on the team’s official channels and Weverse.
Meanwhile, leader RM recently became embroiled in controversy regarding alleged improper cigarette disposal. According to Japanese local media reports on April 22nd, RM was reportedly seen smoking on multiple occasions in a designated non-smoking area while socializing with acquaintances in the Shibuya district of Tokyo, Japan.
The media outlet claimed, ‘Despite there being no separate smoking zone within the establishment, RM and his companions smoked in the building’s corridors and other areas. He also discarded cigarette butts on the ground. A female staff member was reportedly left to clean up the discarded butts, and even after a building security guard cautioned RM, he allegedly continued to smoke.’ As of now, RM and his agency HYBE (Big Hit Music) have not issued any official statement regarding these reports.
