Hyundai Motor Group has proudly announced its active participation in the prestigious 2026 Semafor World Economy forum, which is taking place this week at the Conrad Hotel in Washington D.C.
Hosted by Semafor, this significant global forum convenes influential CEOs and prominent leaders from both public and private sectors to extensively discuss pressing global economic trends and innovative business strategies.
At the event, Hyundai Motor Group is showcasing its groundbreaking future mobility vision through engaging track sessions and interactive roundtables. Concurrently, its luxury premium brand, Genesis, is proudly participating as a key sponsor.
A delegation of top executives from Hyundai Motor Group is in attendance, featuring Executive Chair Chung Euisun, Vice Chair Chang Jae-hoon, President Sung Kim, and CEO Jose Munoz.
Addressing the rapidly evolving global business environment, Executive Chair Chung Euisun highlighted that intensifying competition is a primary catalyst driving innovation within the industry.
He stated, “Rapidly changing conditions are accelerating competition and prompting innovation,” further explaining that the group is strategically combining robust global expansion efforts with enhanced operational agility to significantly strengthen its competitiveness across diverse regional markets worldwide.
Chung Euisun then outlined key strategies designed to effectively navigate current market uncertainties. These include expanding crucial production bases across the dynamic Indo-Pacific region and substantially increasing hybrid vehicle output at existing plants in both Korea and the US.
Additionally, Chung emphasized the group’s significant long-term focus on advanced robotics, underscoring a commitment to a human-centered approach in the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI).
He revealed, “We plan to deploy Boston Dynamics’ cutting-edge humanoid robot, Atlas, within our manufacturing facilities by 2028, with ambitious plans to scale production to up to 30,000 units annually by 2030.”
On Tuesday, CEO Jose Munoz is scheduled to speak at the pivotal Future Mobility track session, proudly sponsored by Genesis. There, he will unveil the group’s innovative “multi-powertrain” strategy, which focuses on comprehensively diversifying its vehicle lineup to include both electric and hybrid vehicles. This strategy aims to effectively address ongoing energy transition challenges and mitigate the impact of oil price volatility.
Furthermore, Genesis is enhancing its presence by operating an exclusive, dedicated lounge at the forum venue, providing attendees with a luxurious premium brand experience and an ideal space for valuable networking opportunities.
